A fundraising talk held at the Crabshell Inn in Kingsbridge on Wednesday 13th October was a huge success, raising over £200 for the Association and bringing together a group of like-minded people to debate the topic "Social Media - is it Undermining Democracy?"
Sir James Burnell-Nugent opened the debate with a talk covering the growth of social media, the dangers of fake news and the possible solutions. Questions and comments were then invited from the audience before discussions split off to continue around the table over generous servings of pizza and wine.
It was a great opportunity to socialise after 18 months of not seeing friends and the Kingsbridge & Hope Cove branch hope to hold more events in the coming months.
