President of the South Devon Constituency Conservative Association
Richard was born in Totnes. He then lived on his parents small dairy farm in Aveton Gifford for 21 years. He studied mechanical engineering and later specialised in Plant Engineering.
Together with his brother John they started Bandvulc Tyres in 1971 which in 2016 employed over 400 people.
Now retired Richard enjoys being a trustee of Totnes Trust, a STEM ambassador for schools and helping out at Totnes Caring.
